Surf the Silence

Brand Strategy · Branding · Web · Print & Digital Client: Alex Ruiz, Founder of Surf the Silence

Overview

Surf the Silence is a meditation school based in the heart of Madrid. Like many businesses, the pandemic pushed them toward rapid digitalisation — online classes, remote bookings, virtual programmes. The infrastructure existed, but it was fragile: no coherent system for students to enrol in online classes, no streamlined process for the school to manage its own administration. Things were working, but only just.

The Challenge

The school’s visual identity hadn’t kept pace with its evolution. The brand felt disconnected from the calm, modern experience the classes themselves offered — and that gap was starting to show. What Surf the Silence needed wasn’t a patch. It needed a complete rethink of how it looked and felt to the world.

My Role

As part of a cross-disciplinary team, I led the brand identity workstream: a full rebrand designed to bring the visual language in line with the school’s values — stillness, clarity, accessibility, and a grounded sense of modernity. My scope covered brand strategy and identity, along with the design system applied across digital, print, and web touchpoints.

Outcome

The result is a cleaner, more considered brand that gives Surf the Silence the visual credibility its offering deserves — and a coherent identity system that works consistently whether someone encounters it on Instagram, a class booking page, or printed material at the school.
